Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records, but Mecklenburg County records are not all held by one office. The Clerk of Superior Court keeps Superior Court and District Court files at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse. The statewide Portal handles online public case information and court dates. The Sheriff's Office maintains arrest and inmate inquiry tools. The Register of Deeds handles marriage licenses, marriage certificates, and recorded land documents. This site brings those routes together with the local addresses, phone numbers, public access limits, and request channels that matter in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.

- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Mecklenburg County case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or public access procedure listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
